Senior Counsel Cajun Industries LLCSenior CounselBaton Rouge, LAOversee all legal matters of one or more business units, serving as the lead legal representative for the business unit • Draft and review various commercial and construction related agreements • Working with business clients to negotiate key terms and conditions • Provides real-time, practical legal advice appropriate for risk exposure, risk avoidance, and dispute avoidance • Engage the proper mix of internal and external resources to manage appropriate aspects of the legal work • This includes identifying strategies, articulating the scope of work, controlling costs, managing outside counsel and meeting deadlines • Maintain organized records of all legal documents and proceedings • Support preconstruction functions by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating construction-related contracts • Manage litigation, arbitration, and mediation processes, including discovery support • Support corporate projects and initiatives as requested, including strategic transaction opportunities • Evaluate and manage outside counsel as needed.
