Essential functions include managing assigned facilities and grounds maintenance operations; planning, estimating, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance, repair, alteration, renovation, and upgrade projects; coordinating in-house and contracted trades work; estimating project costs, scope, staffing, time, materials, and equipment needs; developing and applying preventive maintenance schedules, operational procedures, and maintenance plans; supervising, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of staff; training and coaching employees; maintaining inventory and supplies; preparing reports and records; communicating with staff, supervisors, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders; ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently; and performing related managerial maintenance duties as assigned. Examples of work include planning, coordinating, estimating, and scheduling maintenance, repair, alteration, renovation, or upgrade projects; coordinating in-house and contracted skilled and semi-skilled trades work; estimating project cost, scope, time, materials, staffing, and equipment needs; developing preventive maintenance schedules; managing day-to-day facilities and grounds maintenance operations; monitoring inventory and supplies; preparing reports on project status and maintenance activities; coordinating with employees, supervisors, contractors, vendors, and other personnel involved in maintenance projects; reviewing completed work; training and guiding staff; assisting with employee selection, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline; and performing related duties as assigned.
