SUMMARY: Maintains shipping operations and workflow by monitoring steps of production and process; monitoring shipping progress, personnel and resources; steward for safety regulations maintains reporting procedures and shift production summaries; ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and facilitating maintenance corrections to malfunctions within process; evaluates new equipment and techniques; schedules and assigns shipping personnel to accomplish plan; supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in shipping and receiving of products, components, and/or replacement parts and in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
