Prep cooks will ensure kitchen readiness by preparing all our products each day and ensuring our kitchen is ready for business when we open the front doors for our guests. A great Prep Cook will be fast on their feet and set good priorities to make sure we are ready for business each day!
li>Maintain effective communication with the kitchen staff and management regarding inventory needs, menu changes, and any concerns related to food preparation or pantry supplies. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, notifying the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished to avoid shortages.
li>Maintains the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety for the work area to include prep tables, countertops, refrigeration units, floors, walls, and shelving. It is the responsibility of our cooks to prepare a variety of hot and cold food items such as salad mixes, sauces, side dishes, and appetizers.
li>Prepares a variety of food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags. Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, and medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts for full-time Snoozers (30+ hours/week) after hanging with us for a year.
p>Tools and Equipment Used: Fryer, grills, knives, refrigerators (including walk-in refrigerator,) steam table, condiment table, microwave oven, stove, dishwasher, cleaning supplies & equipment (towels, broom, dust pans, mops, etc.,) cleaning solvents (bleach, cleanser, window cleaner, etc.,) kitchen supplies and utensils (prep safety glove, food totes, stock pots, tongs, spatulas, cutting boards, etc.,) and food processing equipment (food drill, etc.). Major Business/Professional Contacts: The Line Cook will have constant contact with Guests, managers (including shift leaders,) restaurant Team Members, and occasional contact with Restaurant Support Center staff.
p>The line cook is responsible for setting up and stocking assigned stations with all necessary supplies, preparing food for service, and cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment.
p>The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of cooking techniques and food preparation, which will be utilized daily to create delicious meals. You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
