Students teach the class at NSJ themselves, but lecturers provide guidance at the seminars, meet out of class with students between their NSJ visits, and spend class time mooting future classes, debriefing with students, and allowing space for reflection on the students’ teaching experience. The goal of the course is for law students to teach and learn from incarcerated individuals at Nashua Street Jail (NSJ) and possibly other Boston area jails or prisons.
