p>A Supervisor of Building Trades lays out, assigns, reviews work, supervises and coordinates the activities of lead persons or journey persons in such fields as carpentry, plumbing, electrical masonry, painting and other building work; estimates labor and materials and ensures job progress is properly maintained; ensures that jobs are carried out according to plans and specifications; requisitions tools, materials, supplies, and equipment utilizing BIS; supervises the cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment; as necessary, works with journey persons of the individual trades in performing construction, maintenance and repair work; keeps labor and material records, assist in preparing budget estimates for materials; prepares reports, and does other duties as required. Ability to: Assign, supervise, and inspect the work of building trades journeypersons, leadpersons, or supervisors; schedule and coordinate the work of the various trade groups required on a job; read and interpret blueprints and work from plans and specifications; estimate material and labor requirements; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; keep accurate records and prepare reports.
