A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred ā¢ 7+ years of credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio management, relationship management, or a combination of related commercial banking experience ā¢ Credit analysis training or certificate program, advanced skills in underwriting larger complex commercial credits, and familiarity with syndication and participation credits is required ā¢ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills ā¢ Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and the general public ā¢ Advanced skills ā¢ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and personal financial statements and federal/state tax returns ā¢ Knowledge of non-credit bank products and services ā¢ Credit, risk management and negotiation skills ā¢ Understands and is capable of correctly applying business principals and financial ratios ā¢ Analytical and financial analysis skills ā¢ Capable of quick, on-the-spot calculations with a financial calculator ā¢ Understands macro and micro economic issues as they apply to business ā¢ Understands risks (market, interest rate, leverage, etc.) as it applies to the lending process ā¢ Knowledge of loan documentation, loan agreements, loan structuring, collateral perfection and liens, general business contracts, etc. ā¢ Understanding of lending policy and procedures and underwriting and regulatory guidelines ā¢ Ability to deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form ā¢ Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines ā¢ Self-motivated and well organized ā¢ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision ā¢ Ability to use sound logic to solve problems with effective solutions ā¢ Collaborative and highly coachable ā¢ Customer service orientation ā¢ Presentation skills ā¢ Intermediate skills ā¢ Computer literate with ability to quickly learn new software systems; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
