nJob Description\n\n Maintain a clean and safe campus by removing debris and litter from all exterior areas of campus, emptying trash receptacles and sweeping, blowing and cleaning of all exterior hard surfaces\n Maintain clean outdoor benches, handrails and trash receptacles\n Perform routine lawn maintenance practices including mowing, weed eating, edging and raking of leaves and debris\n Apply fertilizer and soil amendments, topdressing materials and soil as directed\n Perform other cultivation practices as directed such as aerification, dethatching, tilling and drainage improvements\n Cultivation, planting and maintaining flower beds\n Planting and maintenance of shrubs, trees and a variety of grasses\n Water trees, shrubs, lawns and plants using hoses and assist in irrigation repair and/or installation\n Perform routine operator maintenance of grounds equipment\n Maintain a clean work environment, including vehicles, equipment and Grounds Department areas\n Removal of snow and ice from steps, sidewalks, streets and other public passageways on campus and assists in the preparation for such weather events\n Repair and maintenance of sidewalks, parking lots, streets and other public passageways\n Special event setups and breakdowns including working during events when necessary\n Assist in moving of furniture, equipment and other items when needed\n Perform all other tasks assigned\n \nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \n \nAbility to understand and implement verbal and written instructions\n\n Ability to operate and maintain manual mowers, riding and tractor mowers, power edger's trimmers and shears and other grounds keeping equipment\n General working knowledge of irrigation systems and repairs\n Working knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, herbicides and planting requirements\n Able to work extended hours to assist in special events\n Minimum of 2 years of grounds keeping experience\n* Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License\n \nSALARY: \n \n24,500.00 \n \nBENEFITS:\n \nCameron University offers a wide variety of comprehensive programs to benefit our employees.
