Our Carle Nurse Residency Program includes the following practice settings: Medical/Surgical: Cardiac-Surgery, Cardio-Pulmonary, Oncology, Orthopedics, Advanced Care, Medical-Surgical, Observation, and Clinical Decision Unit with expanded opportunities in Home Care and Hospice Critical Care: Critical Care Unit and Cardiovascular ICU Women's: Antepartum, Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Children's: Pediatrics, Pediatrics Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units Heart and Vascular Institute, Digestive Health Institute, Radiology, and Perioperative departments Ambulatory: Primary Care, Convenient Care and a wide variety of specialty clinics Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Resident functions as a support to the licensed nursing staff and performs activities related to the personal care and hygiene needs of an assigned patient group. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Completion of first semester of Registered Nurse (RN) education program or Documented military training and Basic Life Support (BLS) Assists with the maintenance of unit supplies to ensure the smooth function of the unit, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making up charts.
