Assists with ADLs and general patient care: includes bed baths, tub baths, showers, setting up patients doing their own bath, brushing teeth/dentures, combing hair, shampooing hair, shaving, dressing patients, changing diapers, measuring and recording I and O, taking/recording vital signs, ambulating patients, transporting patients to tests and procedures, emptying linen and trash, doing hi/lo controls on glucose monitors, weighing patients, turning patients, feeding patients, changing beds, toileting patients, getting patients up in chairs as needed, sitting with confused or agitated patients, reporting to RN any abnormal findings, answering call lights, holding/rocking pediatric patients, assisting with lefts/transfers, packing up patient belongings for discharge or transfer. Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
