Some examples of the diverse and impactful projects that the Engineering Division oversees include roadway capacity improvements, intersection operational improvements, sidewalk and bicycle facilities, multiuse trails, drainage improvements, fire stations, libraries, regional and destination parks, docks and boat ramps, bulkheads, bridge repairs and replacement, creek restoration and waterway improvements. The work is covered by clearly defined policies and principles involving a variety of differing situations requiring the Project Manager to exercise initiative and independent, professional judgment in the application of the principles and practices of engineering to direct studies, design and construction, and in the administration of assigned projects.
