We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing accounting operations, and supporting leadership in maintaining compliance, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
p>We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee the Accounts Payable function and support financial operations within a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction accounting, understands project-based financial management, and can lead process improvements while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, results-driven mindset, along with strong leadership and attention to detail, to oversee financial operations and support business decision-making.The Controller will manage day-to-day accounting activities while also driving financial strategy, partnering closely with leadership to ensure accurate reporting, effective cash flow management, and alignment with organizational goals.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typical office environment and occasionally works on or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
li>Demonstrate outstanding communication skill by displaying ability to tailor written and verbal messages to the appropriate level including an executive audience; produce professional, thoughtful presentation materials to drive home the big picture for leadership teams to make well informed decisions; and demonstrate confidence in presenting to that audience.
Display strong consulting and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders across all levels to understand accounting and business problems, ensure accountability and focus on bringing issues to resolution.
p style="margin:0px">The Controller is responsible for the overall management of the Finance and Accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, payroll oversight, benefits accounting, government contract compliance, timekeeping compliance, audits, banking relationships, and strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will bring deep government contracting expertise, strong cost accounting experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to implement best practices while maintaining a compliant, audit-ready environment.
