Responds to problems and customer questions, requests, comments, and complaints in the field and provides information to office staff; Performs installation, maintenance, operation, and repair duties on the City potable water system, including but not limited to pump stations, production wells, storage facilities, buildings and grounds, water mains, service lines and connections, water meters, and related infrastructure; Uses and maintains a variety of motor vehicles, hand tools, power tools and light construction equipment; Participates in work zone safety procedures including flagging and setting up warning signs, as required by state and federal regulations; Responds to questions and comments from management, supervisors, co-workers and citizens in a courteous, thorough and timely manner; Performs time management and scheduling functions, meets deadlines, and sets project priorities; Maintains strict confidentiality of all matters; Assists other City departments and employees as needed or requested; Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures, and safety practices. High school diploma or GED; Idaho Class B CDL license with airbrake and tanker endorsements required within six months of hire; Idaho Water Operator Certification Class I or higher within one year of hire required; Flagger certification within six months of hire required; CPR and First Aid certification within six months of hire required; Some (6 months) waterline construction and maintenance experience is preferred; or.
