One key tool from this project will need to raise and lower heavy components while standing on uneven terrain and transload the components from the lift-system ● Design material handling equipment used for lifting, moving, and servicing modules and other components in the field ● Perform hands-on prototyping of designs and collaborate with broader teams to build integrated units ● Work with vendors and field service engineers to transition designs from the prototype stage to a hardened and weatherized field service tool ● Perform testing, hand calculations, and FEA to inform specs and future design direction ● Release designs consistent with company and team best practices (drawings, tolerance analysis, etc.) ● Document system designs, usage guidelines, and validation procedures ● Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of field service tools ● Possible Travel up to 20% to other offices or vendor siteKnowledge/Skills/Education/Experience ● Bachelor"s degree in mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field and 7+ years industry experience in mechanical design ● Experience leading design work for complex mechanical systems and structural design, using FEA for structural analysis ● Experience in electro-mechanical system integration, including motors (stepper, servo, or linear), actuators, and drive systems into fixtures ● Advanced understanding of mechanical power transmission, motion control, gear ratios, and torque calculation is a plus ● Proficiency in CAD, specifically SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD. Knowledge in Human CAD or Siemens Jack is a plus ● Proficiency in ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or SimScale ● Proficient with prototyping techniques and working in a machine shop environment ● Sense of urgency and self-driven to hit difficult schedule targets ● Strong communication and collaboration skills ● Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance speed, rigor, and safetyIf you are interested in this role, please apply via the apply now link provided.
