Essential functions include assessing patient needs and therapeutic goals; planning, coordinating, and facilitating recreation-based or music-based treatment programs; assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans; documenting patient participation, progress, and response to treatment; maintaining accurate records, reports, and related documentation; using and maintaining therapy equipment and supplies; coordinating therapeutic activities with clinical staff and other programs; supporting patient safety during therapeutic activities; communicating effectively with patients, staff, supervisors, and treatment team members; providing guidance or work direction to lower-level staff as assigned; and performing related professional therapeutic duties as assigned.
