Duties & Responsibilities: • Develop and lead a research program in epidemiologic methods and/or innovative applications of advanced methods within specific epidemiologic subfields (The following subfields are of specific interest: aging, climate change, climate and environmental epidemiology, reproductive and perinatal epidemiology, chronic disease prevention and other public health domains) • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in epidemiologic methods and quantitative approaches • Contribute to building strong method training environment, including mentoring doctoral and MPH students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty in methodological research • Contribute to departmental, school, and university service activities. Experience in methods development, application of advanced epidemiologic methods, or both Familiarity with approaches such as g-methods, proximal causal inference, quasi-experimental designs, target trial emulation, and causal graphs A scholarly/research portfolio appropriate to rank, with evidence of multidisciplinary applications and a record of, or clear potential for, external funding to complement and expand existing expertise in the department Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate, graduate, and/or doctoral level, as appropriate to rank Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
