Pinelawn CemeteryBackhoe Operator Pinelawn CemeteryBackhoe Operatorfarmingdale, NYJob Duties:Operate trucks, tractors, and various heavy equipment, such as backhoes, dump trucks, hydraulic excavators, and skid steersOpen plots for interments and install liners; follow all procedures to ensure the correct plot is opened for intermentsSupport cemetery operations in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with heavy equipment such as a backhoe, road grader or front-end loaderEnsure interments are securely and carefully opened and closedCheck burial orders to identify any special circumstances (i.e., irrigation line, sectional liner, casket-only interment, etc.)Install outer burial containersMaintain and protects Pinelawns assets by performing a walkaround visual inspection of all assigned equipment prior to and after useInform the mechanic shop supervisor of equipment defects or the need for repairMinimum Requirements:Must possess a valid, unexpired Drivers LicenseMust possess a valid, unexpired Backhoe CertificateExperience operating a backhoe and mini excavatorMust be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in EnglishMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S.Physical Requirements:Must be able to work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, snow, cold, etc. We are seeking a seasonal Backhoe Operator to join our team and operate a variety of heavy equipment and trucks used in cemetery operations, construction and maintenance, and to securely open and close plots for interment services.
