Attends pre-shift activity briefing upon arrival for duty; asks questions and participates in required departmental training and assignment discussions; responds to routine public safety service requests, inquiries, complaints, alarms, and emergency messages; assists police officers in decision making; identifies and recognizes criminal acts; issues warnings and citations; makes arrests when appropriate; effectively and legibly communicates facts and circumstances of personal observations, readings, or received information on activity, incident, or accident report forms; and follows established protocol regarding notification of campus personnel and patrons in the event of emergencies.
