Splice and troubleshoot fiber optic cable, traffic signal cable, communication cable, and electrical service into conduits and termination boxes; Operates and maintains equipment to perform job duties including digital voltmeters, ammeters, radio programmers, PC-based conflict monitor tester, inductive loop analyzer, school zone programmers, aerial hydraulic equipment, backhoe, bobcat, trencher, concrete saws, air compressors and associated tools; Install video detection cameras and associated electronics, microwave data telemetry systems, emergency vehicle priority systems, remotely programmed school zone controllers, audible handicapped-access pedestrian signals, and vehicle detection inductive loops; Respond to emergency calls to troubleshoot and repair the traffic signal systems. Maintain the ability to:
- Frequently stand and walk during a shift;
- Frequently climb ladders, stairs, and inclined surfaces;
- Frequently bend and kneel;
- Frequently push and pull objects;
- Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees;
- Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right and left while sitting or standing;
- Reach above, at or below shoulder height;
- Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
