The Director will be the primary advisor on educational matters for MITEI's leadership team and is the leading representative of MITEI's education program to other MIT units, MIT faculty, administrators, and students, and MITEI's member companies; responsible for student recruitment for the Energy Studies Minor, managing and executing first-year orientation, campus preview weekend, student-company mixer, summer UROP, other programs, and for interacting with MIT student clubs related to energy, sustainability, and climate; assisting with donor interactions to grow MITEI's education funding base and working with MITEI member companies to fulfill their educational goals; managing MITEI's Education funds, tracks statistics on enrollment and engagement, ensures timely completion of required Energy Studies Minor and curricular reviews and reports for MITEI member companies; and supervises an Associate Director and additional staff, including interns or part-time employees. DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, The MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), to lead the MITEI Education Office, including oversight of the Energy Scholars Program, the Energy Studies Minor and its faculty committee, MITEI's UROP activities, the Education newsletter, and the Open Learning portfolio.
