p>Technology Infrastructure and Security: System Management: Oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of the town and district''s Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), servers, and wireless connectivity Cybersecurity: Implements and monitors data security protocols, firewalls, and disaster recovery and contingency backup plans Hardware and Software Lifecycle: Manages the deployment, repair, and replacement cycles for staff/student devices; consults with management to analyze computer system needs for school and town administrative operations, determines the scope and priorities of projects, and discusses system capacity and equipment acquisitions Financial Management System: Manages the Financial Management System and ensures system is available and secure for all end users; systems provide access to work flows required for business function Manages all technical aspects of the town and district's special projects Manages network scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions Manages physical inventory and tracking Manages ticketing and Help Desk Creation and management of user accounts Assist and coordinate technology roll-outs Assist, coordinate and oversee software implementation Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and addresses problems Develops, maintains, and tests disaster recovery plans Coordinates technology needs for Town and School televised meetings Coordinates with Vendors and other Town Departments Manages all phone systems, voice mail system, PA systems, clock systems, security cameras and door access control Coordinates and manages technology used by Public Safety Coordinate and communicate with South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center for Public Safety purposes. RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership and Vision: Technology Planning: Leads short-range and long-range technology planning to ensure systems align with town and district goals; recommends and develops plans for systems development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budgets and staffing Policy Development: Creates and enforces policies regarding digital citizenship, acceptable use, cybersecurity, and data privacy (e.g., CIPA, FERPA and CJIS compliance); develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance Vendor Management: Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
