What You Will Do:
Ascension Providence is looking for a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to serve as the Medical Director for our new inpatient rehabilitation unit.  Ideally, this physician also could establish an outpatient clinic practice and see pain management patients as well.  This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Providence to provide medical services to patients in Waco, Texas. Waco has been recognized as the “Heart of Texas," and is situated on the I-35 corridor between Dallas and Austin with scores of shops and restaurants galore along with excellent parks, a supportive business environment, a low crime rate, diverse housing options, and top-ranked schools.  Responsibilities:<ul><li>Serves as the Medical Director for inpatient rehabilitation services.  Leads interdisciplinary team conferences.</li><li>Monitors ongoing health and progress of patients, and changing treatment plans as necessary.</li><li>Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.</li><li>Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.</li><li>Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
