At least 2 years of experience with servicing EDM machines; Must possess hand tools necessary for performing the duties associated with this position; Associate's Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or alternatively, equivalent relevant work experience; Proficiency in the operation of EDM machinery, electrical circuitry, mechanical systems and software; Ability to read and interpret electrical pneumatic, hydraulic schematics, blueprints and manuals to diagnose problems; Experience with EDM technology (wire/sinker/drilling); Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; Astute mathematical, analytical, time management, attention to detail, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, follow-through and customer service skills; Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment; Ability to lift heavy equipment, as necessary; Valid driver’s license and clean and insurable driving record; Ability to travel throughout the Continental U.S. at least 75% of the time. Reporting to the Director of Service & Applications Engineering, the Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) Field Service Engineer, who is a mobile technical specialist, will install, maintain and repair wire, sinker (ram), and hole-drilling EDM, high-precision CNC machinery at our customer sites.
