Essential functions include providing technical support to agency staff and public library partners; troubleshooting hardware, software, workstation, and network issues of moderate complexity; installing, configuring, and maintaining workstations and related equipment; assisting with network infrastructure deployments and technology upgrades; supporting E-Rate Category 2 internal network infrastructure projects; conducting or assisting with technology assessments; documenting service requests, resolutions, equipment, and project information; communicating technical information to users, agency staff, vendors, and library personnel; maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers; following agency technology procedures and security practices; and performing related information technology support duties as assigned. Examples of work include providing technical support to Mississippi Library Commission staff and public libraries; troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and workstation issues; assisting with workstation deployment, configuration, and maintenance; supporting network infrastructure projects and technology upgrades; assisting with technology assessments for public libraries; documenting technical issues, resolutions, equipment information, and project activities; supporting E-Rate Category 2 internal network infrastructure projects; coordinating with agency IT staff, vendors, and library personnel; assisting with installation or replacement of networking hardware and related equipment; providing user guidance on routine technology issues; and performing related duties as assigned.
