Lead the mechanical architecture and design of medium-voltage power electronics converter assemblies and complex electro-mechanical parts including plastics, sheet metal, insulators, magnetic components, and high-voltage connectors.
li>Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required (in-house designs are planned for most major commodities), complete engineering change request and appropriate documentation (including drawings). As a Mechanical Design Engineer \u2013 Interior Engineering in Tesla's Vehicle Engineering Team, you will be responsible for design, engineer, release and launch of the complete Interior system for future Tesla vehicle product lines.
p>Tesla is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer in the Autopilot and Electronics Product Design team to work on sensing devices (weather/occupant/vehicle awareness). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform first principles analysis to ensure a successful design (physics, stress-strain, thermal, tolerance, cost and mass optimization, etc.).
li>Support development of engineering and reliability test plans, test data analysis, and troubleshooting of design issues and communicate with suppliers regarding DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback and support tooling and assembly bring up. Generate detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation of mechanical designs using 3DX and collaborate with other cross-functional teams to take designs from prototype through production and deployment.
We believe massive scale through data-driven machine learning is the key to unlocking these capabilities for the widespread deployment of robots within society.
