Responsibilities:
Summary: The Director of Nursing provides the overall management, delivery, and administration of the facility’s clinical nursing programs including planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating of all clinical nursing activities, current and long-range planning, health care resources, budget compliance and community linkages, and other related duties as required. In addition, it provides professional development for the nursing and clinical staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>The Director of Nursing reviews and approves policies and procedures relating to qualifications and employment of nursing staff. Revises as needed.</li><li>Formulates and interprets nursing policy and procedures.</li><li>The Director of Nursing serves as nursing representative in accreditation process.</li><li>Coordinates with organizational policy and revises and corrects as needed.</li><li>The Director of Nursing devises formal communication systems and monitors effectiveness.</li><li>Represents nursing in hospital planning meetings.</li><li>The Director of Nursing establishes and implements nursing policy and procedures.</li><li>Provides administrative supervision to the Medical Records, Laboratory, and Performance Improvement and Pharmacy departments.</li><li>The Director of Nursing provides overall supervision and direction for nursing services in order to achieve effective and efficient care of persons served. Ensures the continuous and timely availability of nursing services to people served.</li><li>Establishes, develops, and maintains performance standards of care of people served. Designs and evaluates delivery systems. Ensures nursing care objectives are established and met. Responsible for ensuring quality nursing care throughout facility and initiates corrective action when needed.</li><li>Serves as liaison between nursing and the medical staff. Serves as nursing representative in Administrative meetings.</li><li>Receives and responds appropriately to reports and recommendations of other committees concerned with patient care.</li><li>Chairs nursing leadership to conduct nursing service function and review, conducts monthly nursing leadership meetings.</li><li>Encourages nursing personnel to participate in staff education programs.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an approved program; graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state where the facility is located. Maintains a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times.</li><li>Four (4) years of direct work experience with two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.</li><li>Must possess competence in the performance of the following services: crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care.</li><li>Must have the ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis, and be able provide appropriate follow through treatment.</li><li>Excellent communication and team building.</li><li>Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.</li><li>Must be at least 21 years old.</li><li>Must be a United States citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.</li></ul>GEO Secured Services
