Responsibilities • Backup for Payroll Specialists/Payroll Lead • Supervise and direct activities for dedicated service line Payroll staff, including managing performance and development of staff • Oversees payroll processing operations to ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner • Direct the preparation of payroll related documents • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements • Review weekly payroll • Manage and solve issues relating to payroll production • Review year end information to ensure accurate W-2 information • Analyze the accuracy of various burdens and fringes • Analyze the accuracy of union and prevailing wage payroll and associated reporting • Prepare and submit Corporate payroll requests • Review the Workers Comp Audit, General Insurance Audit, and various other projects before submitting to corporate • Obtain and organize information for internal and external audit • Assist HR, PMs, Administrative Staff, and Employees with various information and inquiries • Review month end work papers for specific service line • Interpret SOX guidelines to ensure accurate controls and segregation of duties are in place to meet compliance • Maintain, train, and work closely with field employees and payroll staff on all Payroll software's, Viewpoint, InEight, VPOne, and the ADP site. • Analyze and recommend improvements to systems and processes • Work closely with HR on HR/Payroll processes • Work closely with IT and CS Project teams in developing and maintaining timely, accurate, automated, and consistent real time payroll data • With support from the Payroll Manager, responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new employees Supervisory: • Coordinate, direct, train and mentor service line specific Payroll Team Members (Payroll Specialists and Payroll Lead) in completing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks as well as special financial or operational projects • Evaluate and review the work assigned to Payroll Team Members • Assist in the employee evaluation process, counsels' employees and effectively recommends initial discipline and other personnel decisions for Payroll Team Members • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Training and Development: • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work Qualifications Education and Work Experience Requirements: • Associate degree or equivalent in Accounting or a Business-related area is required • B.S. in Accounting or a Business-related area is preferred.
