The Civil Engineer II will provide project support services including project planning, preliminary assessment and information gathering, data management, GIS mapping, scoping, contract development, monitoring, inspections, construction management, project management, and associated duties in support of the National Forests in North Carolina Recreation and Engineering Program priorities. This position plays a key role in the disaster recovery and infrastructure rehabilitation efforts following Hurricane Helene, focusing on restoring and improving recreational facilities, trails, campgrounds, roads, and visitor access infrastructure to ensure safe and sustainable public use.
