Education and Experience requirements at this level include a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, crime and intelligence analysis, sociology, or a closely-related field of study; or an equivalent substitution of experience with a law enforcement agency or military law enforcement unit performing technical tasks (e.g., conducting research, reviewing information to identify and collect relevant information, creating reports, using computer systems and law enforcement databases to collect and analyze information specific to assigned task), plus two years of professional experience in conducting investigative case support or criminal intelligence analysis for a law enforcement agency. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of procedures and techniques of business communication; of spelling and punctuation; of computer programs and applications; of basic presentation skills; and of specific analytical tools, software and resources used to identify individuals, organizations, criminal investigations, intelligence activities, and other criminal enterprises.
