p>Conducts orientation programs to familiarize new employees with facility layout, organization, policies, and procedures; and conducts programs in elementary and advanced nursing theory and practice, such as patient/client care, body mechanics, CPR/First Aid, documentation procedures, medication and treatment administration, principles of infection control, physical assessment, nursing process and nursing specialties (gerontology, psychiatry and mental health, mental intellectual disabilities, obstetrics, pediatrics, medical/surgical nursing, community health, nursing administration, etc.). Evaluates educational development of staff (RNs, LPNs, Aides, etc.) upon completion of training activities including observing work assignments in the unit-clinical areas of the facility; and maintains educational records of personnel to document nursing and health care training and development received, and seminars/workshops attended.
