Under direction from the Communications Director, provides excellent customer service, plans, develops, and oversees a variety of digital and print marketing and communications activities, including email, social media, radio, website content, exterior communications, and press releases; may direct, schedule, train, develop, and review work of other marketing staff, including Marketing Specialists; performs other work as required, including consultation with library administration regarding communications topics. This position is distinguished from the Communications Director by its focus on the ongoing activities of library marketing and communications, while the latter has responsibility for all marketing communications activities and system-wide initiatives and serves as the library's spokesperson for day-to-day media inquiries; managing crisis and disaster communications; and networking effectively with other public agency information officers throughout the county.
