Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams, and telecommunications plans; install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling and related communications equipment; diagnose and resolve issues in radio, telephone, television/video, access control, and audiovisual support systems within the scope of the position; maintain accurate documentation and inventories; use specialized test equipment and hand tools safely and effectively; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users; and work independently or as part of a team in field and facility environments. Performs system moves, adds, and changes; monitors communications equipment for reliable operation and regulatory compliance; maintains asset inventories, documentation, labeling, diagrams, and service records; assists with evaluating replacement or upgraded equipment; and provides technical guidance to users and departments on proper equipment use and service requests.
