What You’ll Do• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology division• Recruit, mentor, and support attending physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams• Collaborate closely with GI surgery, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, pathology, and supportive care teams to deliver coordinated patient-centered care• Develop and implement clinical pathways that enhance quality, consistency, operational efficiency, and patient experience• Support continued growth and expansion of GI oncology services across colorectal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, and upper GI malignancies• Define and advance the clinical and scientific vision for the GI oncology program• Expand access to clinical trials and increase patient accrual across GI oncology disease sites• Foster translational research collaboration between laboratory scientists and clinical investigators• Partner with investigators across Roswell Park and external institutions to strengthen research initiatives and scientific impact• Support development of innovative therapies, immunotherapy strategies, and investigator-initiated research programs• Elevate the national and international visibility of Roswell Park’s GI oncology program through scholarship, collaboration, and academic leadership• Teach and mentor fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, junior faculty, and trainees• Foster academic growth, faculty development, and leadership cultivation within the division• Support an educational environment grounded in collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning• Serve on departmental and institutional committees supporting strategic and operational initiatives• Participate in translational research groups and interdisciplinary academic collaborations• Contribute to institutional growth strategies and multidisciplinary oncology initiatives• Foster a culture aligned with High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing excellence, accountability, safety, and teamworkAbout the DepartmentThe Gastrointestinal Oncology Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is nationally recognized for its multidisciplinary approach to GI cancer treatment, translational research, and clinical trial innovation.
