Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCTs skills, training, and the needs of the Department and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. • Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules, must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times, must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors, must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools, or materials encompassed by job duties, and must check with supervisors prior to job performance if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

p>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Preparing patients for procedures; 2) Assisting medical staff with the preparations, recovery and performance of medical procedures; 3) Starting intravenous lines; 4) Setting up medical equipment; 5) Operating medical equipment and; 6) high level disinfection of medical equipment.
