This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting academically qualified and athletically talented high school athletes, leading and managing the student-athletes and assistant coach, organizing and running practices, creating and sustaining an environment that supports the Tufts mission, building a competitive schedule, operating the program within budgetary limits, managing administrative tasks effectively, and actively participating in alumni engagement and fundraising activities. Tufts Athletics has won 17 NCAA team championships since 2010 and has finished in the top 10 of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup every year for the past decade, including winning the Director's Cup in 2022 as the top Division III Athletic Department in the nation.
Minimum Qualifications (Required): Bachelor's degree 1-3 years in basketball operations or equivalent experience in office management/administration Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Excellent organizational and time management skills Additional Considerations: Proven ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to student-athlete welfare Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint Proficiency with Synergy and Keymotion video software Commitment to ensure compliance with all NCAA and University rules and regulations Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills Special Instructions to Applicants: Initial review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division III men's basketball program by educating and coaching student-athletes, recruiting highly selective prospective student-athletes, developing and implementing practice sessions and game strategies, and supporting student-athletes in their personal, academic and athletic growths and development at Tufts.
