Performs testing of patient samples (blood and body fluids) in the medical laboratory to provide data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring the validity and accuracy of test results. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution across the continuum of testing (pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical), quality control, and required equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.
Job Overview: Responsibilities include variant analysis of diagnostic molecular genetic test results; evaluation of published literature, clinical data and review of both functional and in silico data to provide accurate, thorough, and thoughtful clinical interpretation of results. Write research articles in collaboration with other medical professionals and colleagues outside and inside the organization, if data is relevant to the scientific community.
