Call patients with laboratory results, obtain blood glucose readings, prior authorizations, refill prescriptions as per provider order Educate patients on prenatal screening tests/results specific to Maternal Fetal Medicine, self-injection (IM/SQ), signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, diabetes in pregnancy (insulin self-injection, blood glucose monitoring, diet, etc) Review patient charts from regional OB providers to ensure all appropriate information is obtained prior to MFM visit . Be proficient in and perform fetal non-stress tests Assist provider with procedures; amniocentesis, IUD insertion/removal, cerclage removal Perform wound assessment/care; e.g., staple removal, dressing change, debridement, etc.
