The Youth First School Mental Health Professional works closely with the respective school environment to provide a multi-tiered system of support that aligns with best practices in public health (National Institute on Drug Abuse) utilizing universal, selective, and indicated methods of prevention/early intervention in context of the Mental Health Professional role. These programs include Reconnecting Youth©, Coping and Support Training (CAST), Botvin's Life Skills Training, Teen Series, and WhyTry, Support and/or Facilitate Youth First after school programs including Strengthening Families 7-17, and In it to Win it the Seven Habits .
