Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, and arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler, and peak flow meters. Cardiopulmonary disorders are life-challenging and as a respiratory therapist and a human being, your skillset determines arterial puncture or cannulation, artificial airway types and sizes, initial ventilatory settings for mechanical ventilation, ventilator changes based on established parameters and patient assignments to staff based on skills inventory.
