For youth requesting (or staff requesting on behalf of youth) evaluations for medications, the psychiatrist assesses whether medications are warranted and, in conjunction with the youth, their family, the GSS Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, which includes but is not limited to the Case Planner, Social Worker, Nurse, Health Services Assistant, Medicaid Managed Care Liaison, Pediatrician, Health Services, devises an appropriate plan. Effectively use and practice the agency’s approved Evidenced Based Models such as the Sanctuary Model and the Sanctuary tools; safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self-care in the department/program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.
