Physical Requirements: Frequently stand and walk during the shift; Frequently climb ladders, stairs, and inclined surfaces; Comfortably work at heights up to 50 feet; Frequently bend and kneel to read meters and pick up tools; Continuously lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds; Frequently push and pull objects such as wire and panels; Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and flex at the knees in order to work in manholes, lift meters, and lift tools; Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing; Frequently reach above, at, and below should height; Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to drive and operate equipment. Ability to: Work with and assist electric utility substation crews in the safe construction and maintenance of the electric substation system; Learn relay systems, automatic changeover devices, control and printed circuits, supervisory control systems, fiber optics, and voltage regulating devices; Work with oil and oil filled equipment ; Work within enclosed spaces; Read, understand, and follow departmental safety rules and safe work procedures; Work courteously with other employees and customers.
