General Summary: Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach. Assist with scouting and recruitment of student-athletes. Monitors conditioning and training, as well as academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes. Participates in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opposing teams; assists with game planning and strategy. Responsible for directing practices for wide receivers. This includes planning, scripting, and organizing offensive aspects of practice for players and coaches. Install a weekly game plan for success. Participates in public relations activities and fund raising, assists with special projects as assigned by Head Coach. Reports to Head Coach. Install a weekly game plan for success. + Skill evaluation and recruitment of college-bound student-athletes + Monitoring and ensuring the academic progress and ongoing eligibility of currently enrolled student-athletes. + General administrative tasks and public relations activities as assigned by the head coach. + Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses. + This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Necessary Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Two (2) years of experience coaching in field and experience as an offensive football coach. + Maintain a valid driver’s license and qualify to operate a vehicle within West Texas A&M University system. + Ability to pass NCAA Recruiting Test (DII) annually. Preferred Qualifications: + Master’s degree + Prior Wide Receiver coaching experience at the collegiate level. + Experienced Academic performance. + AFCA membership + Proven ability in college recruiting, particularly in the State of Texas. + Commitment to academic success. + Leadership & motivational skills. + Knowledge of NCAA regulations.
