p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of Federal and State of North Carolina motor vehicle laws • Knowledge of regional roadway networks and geography • Skilled in operating a public transportation vehicle, heavy truck, or other heavy vehicle • Strong communication skills - both written and orally • Ability to work individually and as part of a team • Ability to read and comprehend documents, policies, and directives • Ability to problem solve • Ability to assist patrons entering and exiting assigned vehicles • Ability to utilize a two-way radio, telephone, and/or other equipment deemed necessary in order to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
• The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications: • High School Graduate or GED • A valid NC Commercial Driver License with a P" Passenger Endorsement • At least one year of experience operating a public transportation vehicle, heavy truck, or other heavy vehicle • Qualified to meet the legal requirements to drive a school bus in North Carolina.
