During this exciting period of growth and development in the City of Ontario, the position of Deputy Building Official offers a great opportunity for an experienced building professional who is enthusiastic to direct, plan, coordinate, and manage the staff, activities, and operations of the Building Departments Building Inspection, Plan Check and Permit Services Divisions; assist in developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and goals; provide technical assistance and oversight; and provide complex staff assistance to the Building Official in areas of expertise. The essential functions typically performed by the Deputy Building Official include the following:
- Directs and manages the operations of Building Inspection, Plan Check, and Permit Services divisions; assists in developing and implementing departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities to ensure alignment with department, agency, and City goals.
