ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Creates a work-flow schedule; • Directs and oversees work activities and adjusts work schedules to ensure that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner; • Maintains supply levels and inspects equipment for proper working condition; • Makes available to custodial staff, as needed, the training, tools and equipment necessary for job performance; • Conducts monthly safety/training meetings for custodial staff; • Coordinates nightly lockdown of the schools; • Provides support to the Director of Maintenance for the purpose of meeting departmental goals and objectives; • Recommends policies, procedures, and/or action required for the purpose of meeting district/departmental goals and objectives; • Acts as a liaison between Principals and the Director of Maintenance; • Cleans specialized areas, as assigned; • Performs other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent; Five years of experience in a related field; Some supervisory experience required; Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with individuals in a face-to-face, one-on-one or group setting and/or by telephone; Bilingual (Spanish) skills required; Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona drivers license; Must possess knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets); Must possess knowledge of practices essential to the cleaning of buildings, including, but not limited to: use and care of wet and dry vacuum cleaners, floor buffing machines, mop wringers, mops, brushes, soaps, floor stripping materials, cleaning fluids, floor waxes and other materials and equipment related to the custodial care of buildings; Must possess knowledge of hazards and safety methods related to custodial operations.
