p>REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum age of 18 • Minimum 2 years of experience in lifeguarding • Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications • YMCA Lifeguard instructor preferred • YMCA Leader Certificate (obtained within 90 days) • Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard • Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere in the zone of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodations • See and observe all sections of an assigned zone of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodations • Demonstrated ability to recognize swimmers in need of assistance • Demonstrated ability to recognize, respond, and remedy unsafe situations • Ability to work with diverse populations and ages • Ability to serve as a positive role model and provide constructive feedback. In the course of a year, we provide more than 3,000 children, ages 6 weeks through Pre-K with high-quality literacy and STEAM-infused learning; give 58,000 youth and teens access to sports, aquatics, day and resident camps, teen leadership development programs, and employment opportunities; provide over 200,000 members with programs, services, and facilities to enjoy connection and maintain wellness regardless of age; and engage over 25,000 volunteers and donors from across Atlanta to share in the gift of supporting their communities.
