We are seeking a digitally focused Morning Meteorologist who will lead weather coverage in the morning and play a significant on-air role in our ARC (Authentic, Relevant, Community) program on KUNP, our independent channel. This position blends forecasting, storytelling, and anchoring within a community-focused morning environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can connect weather to real-life impact, contribute meaningfully to ARC programming, and engage audiences across broadcast and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will: <ul><li>Deliver accurate, engaging weather forecasts during morning newscasts. </li><li>Serve as a regular on-air anchor and contributor for ARC on KUNP, supporting a conversational, community-driven morning show. </li><li>Provide occasional anchoring or on-air support on KATU morning newscasts as needed. </li><li>Develop and present weather-impact and community-focused stories that align with ARC's mission. </li><li>Lead digital-first weather coverage, including frequent updates for web, app, and social platforms. </li><li>Produce enterprise weather content that explains trends, impacts, and developing conditions beyond the daily forecast. </li><li>Create short-form videos, graphics, and written content optimized for mobile and social audiences. </li><li>Provide calm, authoritative coverage during breaking and severe weather, including live cut-ins. </li><li>Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, and digital teams across KATU and KUNP. </li><li>Represent the station professionally on-air, online, and at community events. </li></ul>Requirements and Qualifications:<ul><li>Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or equivalent experience. </li><li>At least 5 years on-air experience, 3 as a meteorologist is preferred. </li><li>Strong forecasting skills with a clear, relatable on-air presentation. </li><li>Experience or strong interest in anchoring and conversational hosting, particularly in a community-focused format. </li><li>Demonstrated passion for digital storytelling and audience engagement. </li><li>Ability to communicate weather in an authentic, relevant, and community-centered way. </li><li>Comfortable working early morning hours and in fast-paced, breaking news situations. </li><li>Commitment to Sinclair's core values and weather philosophy. </li></ul> While applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news. KGW is looking for a creative, driven and curious news reporter who can shoot and edit his or her own stories. Known in our newsroom as a "multi-skilled journalist," MSJs area key part of our newsroom's coverage on both broadcast and digital platforms. We are looking for a candidate who isn't afraid to tackle complicated stories, who will hold the powerful accountable, and who gets excited at the prospect of creating great journalism. The ideal candidate will pitch smart stories and tell them in way that is both creative and engaging. Most stories will be same-day turns, while other times you'll be given more time to execute your vision. You can expect to work solo many days, although there are ample opportunities to work with a photographer, especially on breaking news. We are also looking for someone who is excited about the future of local news. We are looking for a candidate who embraces the digital future of our industry and can show examples of strong work on digital, streaming and social media platforms. This role is a full-time, non-exempt position represented by SAG-AFTRA. The position may include weekend shifts. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Report, write, shoot and edit news stories for broadcast and digital platforms. Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media to enhance stories. </li><li>Consistently pitch strong story ideas. </li><li>Maintain the highest journalistic standards in every story you cover. </li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field </li><li>Strong understanding of journalism ethics and best practices with a minimum of three years of experience in broadcast journalism or a related field </li><li>Experience with shooting video, video editing, and web content management systems </li><li>Ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots </li><li>Strong social media skills and presence </li><li>Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events </li><li>Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines </li><li>Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop a plus </li><li>Ability to work days, nights and weekends as needed </li></ul><h5>Benefits: </h5>TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
