In this role you will: Research, evaluate and summarize potential M&A targets using strategic frameworks and valuation modeling to determine strategic fit Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, with a key focus on planning, coordinating and executing transaction related due diligence and integration planning activities Effectively plan and facilitate meetings to reach conclusions/consensus Monitor projects and solve problems to keep projects moving forward Identify and track risks, actions, issues, decisions, dependencies, and synergies to ensure successful diligence and integration Support a wide range of high visibility projects in order to answer urgent strategic questions from C-level executives Collaborate with a team of high performers to complete both ad hoc projects and recurring market and competitive research tasks Work with senior executives and the business units to identify and define initiatives that support the corporate / business unit strategy Create presentations to effectively communicate the status and results of the team's due diligence and integration activities to both project teams and senior executives The perfect person will have: 3-5 years relevant work experience in a M&A environment including experience in diligence coordination and/or post-merger integration working for a management/strategic consulting firm, investment banker, or for a strategy team of a highly acquisitive organization Self-motivation, solid organizational skills, strong quantitative, spreadsheet, and presentation ability, and an "above and beyond" attitude to meet deadlines and deliver impeccable results Proven success in leading cross-functional teams in a high paced environment Solid track record executing at a high level as an individual contributor and then holding positions of increasing responsibility in the following areas: Project Management - demonstrated experience organizing, planning, and managing high-priority projects from concept through implementation, specifically around M&A Financial Modeling - experience in building financial business cases and understanding of financial analysis methods such as NPV and IRR Strategic Planning - ability to think strategically and plan effectively including experience in developing integration strategies and plans Stakeholder Communication - superior verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build presentations to communicate complex topics in straightforward terms Relationship Building - ability to foster strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels rooted in collaboration and teamwork, trust and empathy, conflict resolution and respect Market and Competitive Research and Analysis - strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail including demonstrated ability to drive to second-order insights A desire and comfort to work in a changing, fluid, ambiguous environment Ability to meet aggressive deadlines IQ/EQ balance that will enable growth into senior roles Ability to work in a collaborative, open work environment Advanced skill level in Excel and Google Workspace platforms Bachelors Degree preferred in Business, Finance, or Economics What we do for our associates (just to list a few cool ones): Here at ScottsMiracle-Gro, we believe providing an enriching and engaging employee experience is what sets us apart from other organizations.
