Position OverviewThe Jackson Campus of Mountain Academy seeks a collaborative and reflective educator to serve asDirector of Teaching and Learning. This four-days-per-week (0.8 FTE) leadership role supports thedevelopment and implementation of a strong academic program across the school. This position willbe open until filled. The Director of Teaching and Learning works closely with faculty Mountain Academy JacksonCampus (MAJC) and school leadership to support curriculum development, strengthen instructionalpractices, and align assessment systems that demonstrate student growth and programeffectiveness. Primary ResponsibilitiesCurriculum and Instruction Support teachers in curriculum planning and development aligned with school mission andacademic standards Help ensure vertical alignment and coherence across grade levels and subject areas Collaborate with teachers to strengthen instructional practices and student engagement Support the integration of place-based and experiential learning into the curriculumAssessment and Program Alignment Assist with the development and implementation of assessment systems that measure studentgrowth Support faculty in analyzing student data to inform instruction and program improvement Help align classroom assessments with school-wide academic goals Faculty Support and Collaboration Partner with teachers to reflect on instructional practices and professional growth Facilitate collaboration across grade levels and departments Contribute to a culture of professional learning and shared leadership School Leadership and Administration Support general school operations and administrative responsibilities Participate in leadership team meetings and school planning Assist with initiatives that strengthen the academic program and overall student experience Teaching Responsibilities Provide direct instruction to students during a portion of the week, depending on school needsand candidate expertise Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, curriculum, or a related fieldpreferred Experience teaching in elementary or middle school settings Demonstrated experience with curriculum design and instructional leadership Strong understanding of student assessment and data-informed instruction Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school leaders Excellent communication and organizational skills Commitment to the mission and values of Mountain Academy and Teton Science Schools Compensation and BenefitsSalary and benefits are competitive with local educators and include medical, dental, and visioninsurance. Develops construction plans for in-house and contracted projects; develops specifications, cost estimates, sketches, and drawings sufficient to provide direction to contract work forces or in-house staff for various facility projects throughout the College. Directs and oversees project management and the execution of contracts, including scope, project development, negotiation, administration, review, acceptance, advertising, and contract awards; reviews and approves payment applications; performs final inspections and approvals of completed projects.

This position directs the College's physical plant services activities, including personnel management and budget management, which include: facilities operation and maintenance; custodial services; grounds and landscaping; and transportation operations. (College-wide oversight, locations include but not limited to Powell, Field Station, and Cody.)   Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensures that employees follow policies and procedures; maintains a healthy and safe working environment; makes hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Directs and oversees continuous and reliable facilities operations among multiple service areas which includes planning, coordinating, administering, integrating, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinates activities between multiple service areas; works to integrate and coordinate service areas. Identifies, responds to, and resolves issues and concerns related to facilities, transportation, custodial, events, and/or grounds maintenance issues including emergencies. Oversees and manages Field Station operations, maintenance and compliance.   Directs and oversees project management and the execution of contracts, including scope, project development, negotiation, administration, review, acceptance, advertising, and contract awards; reviews and approves payment applications; performs final inspections and approvals of completed projects. Develops and administers budget; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; monitors and controls expenditures; manages financial operations. Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, training sessions, conferences and/or other related groups in order to receive and conveys information and to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships. Assists with the development of the facilities master plan to provide academic and administrative facilities that meet the goals and objectives of the College; assists in the planning and mitigation of campus hazard vulnerability plans.
