Typical duties of this position include, but are not limited to: assessing the impacts of proposed undertakings on above ground historic resources; coordinating all staff project reviews and ensuring the issuance of responses within regulatory deadlines; participating in the development of memorandum of agreement and programmatic agreement documents; overseeing the administration and maintenance of compliance review files and databases; providing technical assistance, public education, and outreach to Maine's CLG communities; reviewing municipal applications for CLG certification and monitoring their compliance with program requirements; providing general technical assistance to members of the public engaged in local preservation planning efforts including the review of municipal ordinances; and. Preference will be given to those with a graduate degree in Architectural History, Art History, Historic Preservation, or closely related field, with course work in American Architectural History - OR - A Bachelor's Degree in Architectural History, Art History, Historic Preservation, or closely related field AND at least two (2) years of full-time experience in research, writing, or teaching American Architectural History or Restoration Architecture at an academic institution, historical organization, agency, museum, or other professional institution - OR - have made a substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American Architectural History.
